20 vehicles vandalized overnight in Chicago's Kenwood neighborhood

CHICAGO — Chicago police said a total of 20 vehicles were vandalized in the Kenwood neighborhood early Thursday morning.They happened in the 4400 and 4800 blocks of South Lake Park Avenue, 4900 block of South Blackstone Avenue and the 4900 block of South Dorchester Avenue. "And I could see the glass from the windows on various areas on each side of the street."Police are reminding people in the area to report suspicious activity, always be aware of their surroundings and not to leave any valuables in your car.

Westbound Interstate 70 has reopened amid a wildfire that initially closed the interstate and U.S. 6 in both directions east of Eagle today.The wildfire was sparked by a head-on collision between an SUV and a dump truck that sent the SUV driver to a hospital.Drivers still should plan to use a northern alternative route that adds 2.5 hours of travel time by detouring through Silverthorne, U.S. 40, Craig and Rifle, according to the Colorado Department of Transportation, as eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 and U.S. 6 remain closed.The 5- to 7-acre Eagle River fire is causing heavy smoke on the interstate and could spread quickly due to weather conditions, according to CDOT.
