Police have closed down several blocks in Miami after a car struck a pedestrian.Miami Police responded to the scene, at around 3 p.m., Wednesday.Due to the incident, police have temporarily closed North Miami Avenue to Northeast First Avenue, from 79th Street to 82nd Terrace. (CNN) — Kellogg has picked a name for its new spinoff companies. NASA and Axiom unveil spacesuits astronauts will wear on the moon

(CNN) — NASA and Texas-based company Axiom Space have revealed a new spacesuit design — and it could be these very suits that are eventually worn by the first woman and person of color to walk on the moon.The spacesuits unveiled by Axiom Space at Space Center Houston on Wednesday are prototypes, though the company says it will be delivering spacesuits that can be used for astronaut training by late summer. The company won a contract last year to produce the suits for NASA.The new design, which looked black with blue and orange detailing for the unveiling, appeared to take on a vastly different aesthetic than the puffy white suits worn by moonwalkers of the 20th century. Hikers rescued after getting stranded in Mount Washington State Forest during storm

Two hikers had to be rescued overnight this week after heavy snow left them stranded in Mount Washington State Forest near Massachusetts’ borders with Connecticut and New York, the Massachusetts State Police announced. Police said a call came in around 7:45 p.m. Tuesday after one of the hikers called 911. The hiker told officials he and his friend had gone for a hike on the Alander Trail. With bad weather and darkness, he said, he and his friend were unable to see trail markings. The hiker said he and his friend couldn’t continue to a cabin they were originally headed to. State police said they also couldn’t retrace their steps out of the forest as snow had covered their tracks. Police said officials assembled a search and rescue team with personnel from multiple agencies, plotting the hiker’s location and assembling at a command post at the Egremont Fire Department on Route 23. State police said crews had to clear roads between the command post and an entrance to the...

Murder warrant issued for suspect sought after stabbing death of 79-year-old Malden man

Authorities are continuing their search for a 33-year-old man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of a victim in Malden.In a joint statement on Wednesday, Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan and Malden Chief of Police Glenn Cronin announced that a murder warrant had been issued for Dion Smith of Boston, in addition to another warrant issued weeks prior.The warrants came after police first discovered the body of 79-year-old Ronald Gilbert back in February. The Malden resident was found on Feb. 22 after police were called to his apartment on Kennedy Drive over reports of an odor coming from his unit.RELATED: Police seek man for larceny in connection with Malden death investigationOfficers went on to find Gilbert, who’s body showed “obvious signs of decomposition,” according to the DA’s office.
