Dream forward Nia Coffey to miss remainder of season with left hand injury

ATLANTA (AP) — Atlanta Dream forward Nia Coffey will miss the remainder of the season with a left hand injury.Coffey suffered the injury last week and after consulting with specialists was ruled out for the season by the Dream on Thursday.Coffey, who has started in 31 games, was averaging 6.9 points and 4.8 rebounds in her seventh season.Coffey was drafted out of Northwestern by the San Antonio Stars, now the Las Vegas Aces, in 2017. She was traded to Atlanta before the 2019 season and played for Phoenix and the Los Angeles Sparks before re-signing with the Dream before the 2022 season.Coffey, 28, is expected to make a full recovery, according to the Dream.___WNBA: https://apnews.com/hub/wnba-basketballSource

WASHINGTON (AP) — Joan Lowy, a veteran Washington journalist who spent the final decade of her career covering transportation issues for The Associated Press, has died. She was 66.Lowy died early Wednesday at her home in Vienna, Virginia, after a 10-year battle with abdominal cancer, said her husband, Michael Christensen.“She was a heck of a reporter,” Christensen, also a journalist, said Thursday about his wife of 33 years. “She loved journalism. I-70 reopens at Floyd Hill after loose rock causes rush-hour closure

DENVER (KDVR) — Interstate 70 was closed at Floyd Hill Thursday afternoon because of loose rocks after blasting above the highway. Fire causes black smoke to billow out of Sheraton Hotel

DENVER (KDVR) — Heavy black smoke was pouring out of the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel after a diesel fire.FOX31 cameras captured black smoke coming from the roof of a downtown hotel. According to the Denver Fire Department, they are on scene of a fire at the Sheraton Denver Downtown Hotel located at 1550 Court Place.
